Traveling From GATLINBURG / SEVIERVILLE / PIGEON FORGE Area:

Do NOT use the TN-32 route!! It’s very steep and windy road. It also turns into a gravel road at one point on top of everything. Full of many potholes + impossible to turn around on. Avoid it!!!

Create a route with *2* stops. You can lose service at any time when you’re out in those mountains, so have it set up BEFORE you start driving.

> 1st Stop: Drive to Cosby, TN. I always use the address of Cosby High School as my first stop for the route:

3318 Cosby Hwy, Cosby, TN 37722

> Final Destination: The parking lot for the Big Creek campground varies depending on what you use! Apple Maps & Google Maps love to make our lives difficult so try using either of the following addresses to locate it. Make sure you confirm it matches the map/photos below:

Big Creek Entrance Rd, Waynesville, NC 28785

Big Creek Campground Loop Rd, North Carolina 37821

Either of those should pull it up! Double check everything is good to go. Your route should include Greasy Cove Rd AND Hartford Rd. And yes, Foothills Parkway is closed for the winter. Highly recommend that scenic drive if it’s spring/summer/fall!

If you need to use the restroom on your way there, consider adding ‘Bojangles’ to the directions. It’s the only place to find a clean bathroom along the way, trust me!
